Video is a series of picture recorded or made to present information and is now being widely used in education field. The aim of this research was to identify the effect of video as teaching material in teaching floral anatomy subtopic. The effect of using video is measured by finding out the significant differences in the score of students before and after being treated with video. 59 respondents from semester one Biology students were involved. Descriptive data and quantitative data analysis were used where the mean, mode, median and standard deviation is calculated. T test was used to identify the difference in respondents scores between the two tests (pretest and posttest) using SPSS. Students’ opinion was analyzed from the questionnaire given. The respondents’ achievement increased after being treated with video. The T test calculated given the p value less than 0.05 that is 0.00 in these significant two-tailed tests. With correlation 0.713 and t value -9.04, it showed significant difference between the two variables. As the conclusion, the null hypothesis is rejected and the research found out that video does bring positive effects in students’ achievement. Result from survey shows that 50.8% of students found out that the subject is interesting to learn, more than 50% stated that the content of the video is good, 40% and above stated that the graphic, colour and effects in the video can be understood, 56% preferred to learn using video compare to other teaching method and more than 60% students feel motivated, glad to use the video and will recommend it to others.
